[/b] [li] Thou shalt not spam up the boards with thy meaningless drabble.[/li][li] Karma's Stupid Rule:[/b] On a similar note, respect other people's interests. Okay, so you don't like a book that another person likes. Don't take shots at that book because it's going to tick someone off and start a fight. Staff members go by the rule, "I don't care who started it, I'm ending it". If you're brawling with someone in the Cbox or in the boards over whatever, it's not going to end well for any participants. (Read: Warnings will be issued and temporary bans put into place if the warnings go ignored.) [/ul] [/li][li] The "Kill Waterstep" Rule:[/li][li] i iz gud splr:[/b]. You don't have to make it EXTRRRRRRREMELY GRAMMATICALLY CORRECT and we'll forgive spelling errors, but make it legible. On that note, Bob the Angry Flower has a little lesson for you if you find people unable to take you seriously due to your poor usage of punctuation.[/ul] [/li][li] "I wonder what happened to Link?"[/li][li] There's a really fine line between constructive criticism and flames.[/b] go together. On a side note, if someone posts say, a story or something and says they don't want constructive criticism... then, well, don't post any. Simple. [/ul] [/li][li] OOC and IC don't mix.[/li][li] Can't let you view that, Firefox![/b] This includes, but is not limited to copying artwork (always always ALWAYS check with the artist if it's okay to use their image somewhere and make sure to give them credit if they ask to!), copying stories or characters, or otherwise taking credit for things you didn't create. If we get complaints about plagiarism that are grounded and supported by evidence, you just might be facing a stern reprimanding or even a temporary ban from the Gallery section of the forum. Or something. We'll figure it out, but we won't have to because you won't do this.[/ul] [/li][li] Needs MOAR evidence, objections and "take that!"s.[/b] However, don't just say "Karma's being a jerkhead and won't leave me alone". Give examples, give Cbox logs/screenshots of the harassment if you get them. Don't be vague. We want to help you if someone's making your time here miserable, but we can't help if you hardly tell us what the problem is. [/ul] [/li][li] The Idiotic Rule of Page Stretching:[/img] tags in your signature. Generally speaking, if it exceeds 500x300 or is around that amount in area, you're bound to get asked to remove it, link to it instead or crop it. Similarly, we'd rather you link to images that exceed this size limit instead of killing the page with its colossal size. This rule isn't really enforced in OOC threads (since it's more of a relaxed atmosphere and stuff), but it most definitely will be enforced in signatures, IC posts and character profiles. [/ul] [/li][li] Goodness, I seem to have dropped my other alias! Let me get that.[/li][li] Gosh dang it to heck! Darn you, you scoundrel! Your mother is a classy lady![/i] If you find yourself in the need of foul language to support your argument or claim, then it's probably a pretty weak point you're trying to prove. On a side note, offensive language here doesn't include racial slurs and the like (such as slurs regarding someone's sex or sexual orientation). Those aren't tolerated at all, period, regardless of circumstances and how infrequently/frequently they're used. (And believe me when I say I'm serious business about this; you will get a nasty smack from the banhammer if you continually do it.) [/ul] [/li][li] I got crushed when I was a newbie. Here's a rule I wished the all the "good" role playing communities had.[/b] If you must judge, at least be merciful in your verdicts; be helpful without being condescending. [/ul] [/li][/ul]
