Also known as a cheap way for other people to do my work.
So, what does every forum need to survive? The answer lies not in how many staff members you have, nor is it in how excellently awesome your forum concept or skin is. It's how much you spam up other forums with ads and affiliate requests.
This is where you come in: the more you guys advertise, the more publicity/general attention Reversals will get. It's good for everyone. But just in case you're not convinced, I'll give you a nifty little reward for every ad you make. For every ad you make, I'll give you 25 magickal moniez; that's the equivalent of one post. However, if you hit certain "landmarks" in your ad making, you'll get another prize in addition to the 25 magickal moniez per ad...
5 ads - If you make five ads on other boards, then you'll receive 400 magickal moniez.
10 ads - If you make ten ads on other boards, then you'll receive 1,000 magickal moniez.
15 ads - If you make fifteen ads on other boards, then you'll receive 1,600 magickal moniez.
20 ads+ If you make twenty or more ads, then you'll receive the mother of all prizes: a free "Unburdened" item from the Flea-Bitten Market (which costs 4,000 magickal moniez and enables your character to carry eight items instead of three from the store) for your current/future cat character and 2,200 magickal moniez.
As you can see, there's plenty of good stuff to be won here: that's a lot of magickal money, which means extremely awesome characters in the long run.

The four groups are beginning to recover from the "great plagues" that inflicted their territories and killed off many of their cats. In the north, the cats of Ruinplace and Shadowtrees have finally seen the last of the illnesses that suddenly struck and took the lives of countless cats, both groups wondering if the other is the cause of the sickness. Meanwhile, the cats in the southwestern territory of Crashingwaves are finding themselves finally able to hunt again with the abrupt return of the fish in the sea and rodents on the cliffs. They ought to be thanking their luck, but there are cats in Crashingwaves that wonder if their neighbors in Ruinplace were overhunting in the Crashingwaves territory in an attempt to keep the sick Ruinplace cats fed. The southeastern territory of Sunnysands was not immune, either; a nasty drought dried up most of the river, and few cats lived to see the rains pour down that heralded the end of the drought. However, some cats murmur of a war as desperate groups seek to re-establish their power and not be at risk of being decimated by a group whose losses were less severe than their own. The already-tenuous relations between the groups are being pushed to the limit, and who knows what could incite a war...

It looks like this:
Reversals is a unique twist on the classic Warriors tale we all know and love: there are four groups, each maintaining a unique territory that they have lived on and adapted to for countless generations. These four groups are named for the land they control: Ruinplace, a cliff with countless abandoned human nests, Sunnysands, a desert-like wasteland with little water, Crashingwaves, a large beach with an expansive network of caves, and Shadowtrees, a fertile forest whose dense foliage blocks out most light. There is more dividing the groups than territory boundaries and histories of past conflicts, however; each group controls an element specific to a particular group, and can wield this magic to defend the territory from intruders. In the west, Ruinplace and Crashingwaves control Air and Water respectively, whereas the eastern cats of Shadowtrees and Sunnysands can respectively manipulate Earth and Fire. From creating torrents of rushing water to blazing infernos of terror or summoning divine bolts of lightning to cleaving the earth in two with a massive earthquake, these cats hold immense power in their paws.
The groups' histories are rich with myths; tales of heroes describe the origins of peculiarities found in day-to-day life, not to mention how the myths advocate for a strong belief in whoever the group worships. Each group worships a particular deity, such as Shadowtrees worshiping the Earth they walk on and Ruinplace calling upon the Cats of the Sky for guidance, or the Sun holding a particular holiness for the cats of Sunnysands and the Crashingwaves cats either calling the Moon or the Ocean their guardian.
Now that the groups have recovered from the disasters that struck their territories and cats, what will happen next? Will a group suddenly gain power and take over another territory, or will there be an uprising to seize control from the current leader in one group? Everyone watches in anxious anticipation, waiting for someone to make a move... and nobody can tell what might initiate a war.
If you prefer an ad that matches the skin or just think that ad clashes terribly with the skin of the forum you're advertising on, this one might be more up your alley. Just replace the image url for the "plot ad" in the code with that one's url.

Of course, like everything on this board, we get
- Do not request to become affiliates with a forum. I'll do that myself. This includes forums that require their banner up on our forum before advertising; don't advertise there if that's the case.
- Follow the rules of the forum you advertise on.
- Do not advertise somewhere if somebody else has already advertised there. Also, if you're advertising on a board that already advertised on Reversals, put [LB] in your ad's subject. (Unless there's, for some reason, a rule against doing that.)
- Make sure when you post the ad, it looks neat. Use the "Preview" button before posting. Check for broken links and images before walking away.
- In this thread, link to the advertisements you make. You may make multiple posts. In other words, you don't have to make 20+ ads all at once to get the grand prize. You could advertise five times on each of four days, and you'd still get the prize.
